WhatsApp: This is how you can send messages to unknown numbers without adding them to your contacts

Nowadays, instant communication is essential as it has the ability to connect millions of people efficiently and without geographical restrictions. One of the most popular platforms that has stood the test of time is WhatsApp. The application, developed by Meta, has established itself as a key tool in our daily lives, allowing us to connect immediately with friends, family and colleagues. However, there are many times when you may want to send a message to an unknown number that you don’t want to save in your contacts list.

Previously, there were methods to do this; however, they were impractical. Therefore, WhatsApp has implemented a way to do it which, despite being a bit complicated, simplifies the process. In the following lines, we will show you the process to send messages to unknown numbers that you do not want to add to your contact list; in addition to the old method that never fails.

How to send messages to unknown numbers without saving in contacts on WhatsApp

There is little point in having to add as a contact people with whom you will only speak once, whatever the reason. For this reason, Third-party applications were created or known tricks were made which allowed you to chat with non-added contacts when opening a website. This procedure used to be tedious. In this sense, WhatsApp added this function that you can do both from your smartphone and from the web.

  • In Android you will have to press the new message icon located at the bottom right corner. In iOS It is the + symbol and is located at the top right.
  • Afterwards, you have to enter the complete cell phone number, including the prefix. For example, if the contact is from Peru, it will be +51912345678.
  • A window will appear indicating that the user does not belong to your contacts and giving you the option to add him/her. In this case, you will only have to press the button Chat.

The traditional method: the direct link

Before this official method existed, you had to go to websites to talk to unknown numbers through the app. It is a method that can still be done. Here we show you how.

  • Open the web browser on your smartphone: Go to the browser you prefer to use on your mobile device.
  • Enter the WhatsApp URL: In the address bar, type ‘wa.me/number’, replacing ‘number’ with the recipient’s phone number, you have to include the country code, but without the plus symbol + or spaces. For example, to send a message to the number +51 123 456 789, you would type ‘wa.me/51123456789’
  • Access the WhatsApp page: Press Enter and you will be automatically redirected to a WhatsApp chat window with the entered number.
