Labor Commission approves economic allocation for workers who work under special conditions



The Committee on Labour and Social Security of the Congress of the Republic, approved with 6 votes in favor, 1 against and 2 abstentions, the opinion that establishes a Economic allowance for workers who work in special conditions of heightThe legislative project was presented by parliamentarian Flavio Cruz.

The measure seeks to benefit thousands of workers who work in hazardous weather conditions where their health is affected by the type of work they perform.

Which workers will benefit?

Congressman Flavio Cruz, belonging to the Peru Libre party, proposed through this bill, a Additional economic allocation for workers in the public sector or private companies who carry out their work at an altitude higher than 4,000 meters above sea levelThis initiative seeks to recognize the efforts of these employees under special conditions, who face additional challenges due to the extreme height at which they work.

Economic allocation would amount to 10% of the Minimum Living Wage

The initial project establishes that the economic compensation is the granting of an additional amount to the salary received by the workers representing 10% of the Minimum Living Wagewhich is currently S/1,025. Therefore, this economic incentive would be S/102.5. In this regard, this financial compensation would aim to improve the extreme conditions that can cause altitude illnesses of cerebral and pulmonary origin, which hinder the proper performance of their functions.

Labor Commission: approves modification of the Single Labor Certificate Law

On the other hand, the Labour Commission chaired by Congressman Pasión Dávila, approved with 7 votes in favor, 3 against and 1 abstention, the modification of article 2 of Law No. 31760, Law of the Single Labor Certificate.
